Six weeks after we saw our first teaser trailer for the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic, Universal has released the first full-length trailer for the movie, showing Michael Fassbender as Apple’s co-founder and former CEO. And boy is it dramatic! You can now use any Android app on your Mac w/ BlueStacks...

BlueStacks, a free desktop Android emulator that lets users play any mobile game or app on the big screen with a mouse and keyboard, has mostly been limited to PC users until today. But Mac users are about to get access to the software that the company says already has around 90 million users on Windows.

img.php?z=1288305&k=0d0633b70e3c2bda246a

While the app arrived briefly as an alpha release of Mac users back in 2012, this morning the company is launching an official release of the popular BlueStacks App Player software for Mac for the first time, allowing Mac users to play mobile games and use their favorite apps from mobile on the desktop. The company told us that it’s worked hard to optimize BlueStacks for Mac to take advantage of all the benefits of a larger Retina display and using touch gestures on Apple’s trackpads.

“Mac OS is a top notch platform and we worked hard to take advantage of everything it has to offer,” said BlueStacks Principal Software Architect David Reese. “From pinch to zoom on the trackpad to its retina display we optimized for everything.”

BlueStacks is capable of running x86-based and ARM-based apps, supports Android TV apps, and offers the ability to share files and content from desktop to mobile through syncing features. Users can download Android apps from Google Play in the same way they would on an Android device. Here’s a look at the app in action (click for full-size):

In addition to trackpad and Retina display support for Macs, it also offers microphone, sensor and camera integration, and native graphics support for running even the most graphically intensive games.

In case you’re unfamiliar with BlueStacks, the company has backing from notable investors including Intel, Andreessen-Horowitz, Qualcomm, and AMD, and also has a few OEMs preloading the software for users including Lenovo, Asus, and MSI.

The BlueStacks App Player for Mac is available to download for free from the company’s site today.

Universal Releases Official Full Trailer for 'Steve J...

Posted By x-bot in iDevice News
Following an <a href="http://www.macrumors...movie/">initialteaser</a> earlier in May, Universal today released the first official full-length trailer for the upcoming Steve Jobs movie. <br/> <br/> The two-and-a-half minute trailer provides the longest look at the Danny Boyle-directed biopic that anyone has seen yet, balancing focus between Steve Jobs' various behind-the-scenes product launches and his intense personal life regarding his relationship with daughter Lisa Brennan-Jobs. <br/> <br/> <center><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aEr6K1bwIVs?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></center> <br/> The trailer also gives more in-depth looks at Jeff Daniels and Kate Winslet, especially, as John Sculley and Joanna Hoffman, with various through-the-years glimpses of Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs. After various <a href="http://www.macrumors.com/2015/02/03/jobs-film-extras/">casting calls</a> and <a href="http://www.macrumors.com/2015/03/17/michael-fassbender-jobs-movie-poster/">set photo leaks</a> earlier in the year, excitement around the <a href="http://www.macrumors.com/2014/11/19/sony-pictures-drops-steve-jobs/">somewhat troubled film</a> has only been steadily building. Fans can expect to see the full movie in theaters October 9.<br clear='all'/><br/><br/><a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/rc/1/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/rc/1/rc.img" border="0"/></a><br/><br/><a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/rc/2/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/rc/2/rc.img" border="0"/></a><br/><br/><a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/rc/3/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/rc/3/rc.img" border="0"/></a><br/><br/><a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/a2.htm"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/a2.img" border="0"/></a><br/><a href="http://adchoice.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/ach.htm"><img src="http://adchoice.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/ach.img" border="0"/></a><img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/a2t.img" border="0"/><img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi2.feedsportal.com/r/233194052481/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47beaa46/sc/15/a2t2.img" border="0"/><img width='1' height='1' src='http://rss.feedsportal.com/c/35070/f/648326/s/47beaa46/sc/15/mf.gif' border='0'/><div class="feedflare">

<p>We <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2...-go-away/">toldyou earlier this year</a> that Snapchat was considering changing a major part of how its app works, and today the social network has officially introduced that change: viewing Snaps and Stories now works with a single tap. Previously, part of Snapchat’s signature user experience included holding a finger over a Snap or Story to view it; lifting the finger meant going back to the contact list. Aside from the new Tap to View feature for Snaps and Stories, the update includes a few other changes as well…<span id="more-387227"></span><div class="inlinead"><a href="http://rss.buysellads.com/click.php?z=1288305&k=0d0633b70e3c2bda246a715efcc79f88&a=1435771122&c=544413566" target="_blank"><img src="http://rss.buysellads.com/img.php?z=1288305&k=0d0633b70e3c2bda246a715efcc79f88&a=1435771122&c=544413566" border="0" alt="" /></a></div></p>
<p>For instance, adding friends to Snapchat is now an easier experience than before, especially among groups of Snapchat users together thanks to a new Add Nearby feature. This lets you quickly add friends around you when everyone opens the Add Nearby view.</p>
<p>Snapcodes, which let you add friends as well, have gained new features including the ability to attach a selfie for easier recognition and using Snapcode screenshots to add friends in Snapchat.</p>
<p>The new Tap to View feature should be a big deal for Snapchat users, especially with lengthier content through Stories gaining in popularity thanks to recent feature additions.</p>
<p>Snapchat version 9.11.0 is <a href="https://itunes.apple...&#38;at=10laZc"target="_blank">rolling out now on the App Store</a>.</p><br />Filed under: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/category/apps/'>Apps</a> Tagged: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/snapchat/'>Snapchat</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/social/'>social</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/tap-to-view/'>tap to view</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gocomments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/comments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godelicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/delicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gofacebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/facebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gotwitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/twitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gostumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/stumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godigg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/digg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/goreddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/reddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387227/" /></a> <img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=387227&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /><p>Check out <a href="http://9to5mac.com">9to5Mac</a> for more breaking coverage of <a href="http://9to5mac.com/category/apps/">Apps</a>, <a href="http://9to5mac.com/tag/social/">social</a>, and <a href="http://9to5mac.com/tag/snapchat/">Snapchat</a>.</p><p>What do you think? <strong><a href="http://9to5mac.com/2015/07/01/snapchat-tap-to-view/#comments">Discuss "Snapchat no longer requires holding Snaps &amp; Stories to&nbsp;View" with our community.</a></strong></p>

The flawless backup solution: lifetime of wireless local...

Cloud storage is crazy convenient, but it has its drawbacks. You can find yourself shaking your fist at the sky if  your wireless connection drops out, not to mention the concerns offboard storage often raises about data privacy. 'iPhone 6s' to Support Faster Download Speeds Wit...

Posted By x-bot in iDevice News
Following a <a href="http://www.macrumors...-shell/">reportyesterday</a> that the next-generation "iPhone 6s" will appear essentially identical to the current lineup of iPhones with a few minor internal differences, an unnamed source has shared new photos of logic board from the device with <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2015/07/01/phone-6s-twice-as-fast-better-battery/"><em>9to5Mac</em></a>, revealing an updated Qualcomm LTE chip offering faster LTE speeds and greater energy efficiency. <br/> <br/> Specifically, the next iPhone will carry a Qualcomm MDM9635M chip -- also referred to as the "9X35" Gobi modem platform -- and it aims to give the iPhone 6s a significant increase in performance over the current 9X25 used in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. <br/> <br/> <img src="http://cdn.macrumors.com/article-new/2015/07/iphone-6s-qualcomm-chip-800x504.jpg" alt="iphone 6s qualcomm chip" width="800" height="504" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-456106" /> <br/> For everyday users, this gives the potential for significant increases in LTE network performance with download speeds of up to 300 Mbps, twice that of the current iPhone line. Real-world limitations of carrier support will, however, limit those speed improvements in many cases. <br/> <br/> The new Qualcomm chip, which was announced in 2013 and came to market last year, is also more power efficient. This power efficiency combined with the possibility of a slimmer motherboard could give the iPhone 6s some improvement in battery life this year. <br/> <br/> As <a href="http://www.macrumors.com/2015/06/30/iphone-6s-leaked-photos-rear-shell/">shared yesterday</a>, the iPhone 6s will appear nearly identical to the iPhone 6, which is typical for Apple's "S" generation iPhones. Apple will, however, be including a number of enhancements for the device, from the faster LTE modem to a <a href="http://www.macrumors.com/2015/03/10/apple-force-touch-pink-iphone6s/">Force Touch</a> display and perhaps the "<a href="http://www.macrumors.com/2014/11/18/apple-biggest-camera-jump-ever/">biggest camera jump ever</a>."<br clear='all'/><br/><br/><a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/rc/1/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/rc/1/rc.img" border="0"/></a><br/><br/><a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/rc/2/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/rc/2/rc.img" border="0"/></a><br/><br/><a href="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/rc/3/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://rc.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/rc/3/rc.img" border="0"/></a><br/><br/><a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/a2.htm"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/a2.img" border="0"/></a><br/><a href="http://adchoice.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/ach.htm"><img src="http://adchoice.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/ach.img" border="0"/></a><img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/a2t.img" border="0"/><img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi2.feedsportal.com/r/233194049407/u/49/f/648326/c/35070/s/47bed640/sc/28/a2t2.img" border="0"/><img width='1' height='1' src='http://rss.feedsportal.com/c/35070/f/648326/s/47bed640/sc/28/mf.gif' border='0'/><div class="feedflare">

<p>Eddy Cue <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2...ifi/">confirmedlate last night</a> that a new iOS 9 seed is coming to developers next week with support for Apple Music, but since the service launched yesterday, users have discovered that there are a few ways to use certain aspects of it while on iOS 9.</p>
<p><span id="more-387193"></span><div class="inlinead"><a href="http://rss.buysellad...2&c=1876814061"target="_blank"><img src="http://rss.buysellads.com/img.php?z=1288305&k=0d0633b70e3c2bda246a715efcc79f88&a=1435771122&c=1876814061" border="0" alt="" /></a></div></p>
<p>First, if you are running iOS 9, Siri commands work to access some of the features of Apple Music. For instance, you can ask Siri to add an album that you didn’t previously have to your library and the content will be added from the Apple Music selection. This also works for songs. Beats 1 is available on iOS 9 via the Music app, but you can also use Siri to access the service.</p>
<p>Another way iOS 9 users can access Apple Music content is by adding the music to their library from a device running iOS 8.4 or iTunes 12.2. From there, the content will then be accessible from any of your devices, even ones running iOS 9.</p>
<p>Apple Music will come to developers running iOS 9 via a new beta, the third since the OS was unveiled, next week. While developers may be disappointed by the lack of a new beta yesterday with Apple Music, a new beta next week follows suit with Apple’s general two-week schedule for new betas.</p>
<p><a href="http://9to5mac.com/2...e-music/">AppleMusic and</a> <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2015/06/30/beats-1-live/">Beats 1 launched yesterday</a> after being <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2015/06/08/apple-music-official/">officially unveiled</a> at WWDC at the beginning of last month. The service costs $9.99/month for individual users and $14.99 for families of up to six. Everyone gets a 3-month free trial to start.</p><br />Filed under: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/category/apple-music/'>Apple Music</a> Tagged: <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/apple-music/'>Apple Music</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/beats-1/'>Beats 1</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/eddy-cue/'>Eddy Cue</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/ios-9/'>iOS 9</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/iphone/'>iPhone</a>, <a href='http://9to5mac.com/tag/music/'>Music</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gocomments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/comments/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godelicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/delicious/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gofacebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/facebook/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gotwitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/twitter/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/gostumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/stumble/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/godigg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/digg/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/" /></a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/goreddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/reddit/9to5mac.wordpress.com/387193/" /></a> <img alt="" border="0" src="http://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=9to5mac.com&blog=22754319&post=387193&subd=9to5mac&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /><p>For more news on <a href="http://9to5mac.com/tag/iphone/">iPhone</a>, <a href="http://9to5mac.com/tag/music/">Music</a>, and <a href="http://9to5mac.com/tag/eddy-cue/">Eddy Cue</a> continue reading at <a href="http://9to5mac.com">9to5Mac</a>.</p><p>What do you think? <strong><a href="http://9to5mac.com/2015/07/01/apple-music-ios-9/#comments">Discuss "iOS 9 beta supports limited Apple Music + Beats 1 playback including Siri&nbsp;control" with our community.</a></strong></p>

<p>The first in-depth video preview trailer for the upcoming, official Steve Jobs movie has gone live. The movie features Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs, Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak, and it was written by Aaron Sorkin. The film is based off of Jobs’s official biography by Walter Isaacson. Earlier this year, the <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2...trailer/">firstteaser trailer for the movie appeared</a>, but it did not provide an extensive look into the story or characters. The movie starts showing in theaters in October 9th.</p>

<p><a href="https://9to5mac.file...53-am.png"><imgtitle="iTunes 12.2 update indicates new gold, dark blue, dark pink iPod nano, touch + shuffle colors" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-387186" src="https://9to5mac.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/screen-shot-2015-07-01-at-10-02-53-am.png?w=704&h=455" alt="Screen Shot 2015-07-01 at 10.02.53 AM" width="704" height="455" /></a></p>
<p>Apple could be preparing to refresh its aging iPod lineup with new colors, according to a new image found inside of yesterday’s <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2...eats-1/">iTunes12.2 update for Apple Music</a>. With the new update, when a user plugs in an iPod for the first time, the above image showcasing a dark blue <a href="http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;field-keywords=iPod%20touch&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3AiPod%20touch&amp;tag=9to5maccom-20&amp;url=search-alias%3Daps&amp;linkId=H3P2JQZK5OPQG3K4">iPod touch</a>, a gold <a href="http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;field-keywords=iPod%20nano&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;tag=9to5maccom-20&amp;url=search-alias%3Daps&amp;linkId=QXFXE563MVTPC27S">iPod nano</a>, and a dark pink <a href="http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;field-keywords=iPod%20shuffle&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3AiPod%20shuffle&amp;tag=9to5maccom-20&amp;url=search-alias%3Daps&amp;linkId=LXL4RJAKU6UOJHBH">iPod shuffle</a> appear. None of those iPod color options currently exist, indicating that Apple could be preparing to refresh its line with those richer tones. Interestingly, the Touch lacks a hole for the camera loop.</p>
<p>It is possible that the image is simply a Photoshop error, which would not be unprecedented, but our look into the previous version of iTunes, version 12.1.2, indicates that the image is actually new, which means that it was intentionally designed. There is currently no indication as to if and when Apple is planning to release new iPod colors, but we are told that iPod nano and touch stock at Apple Stores is currently seeing some temporary shortages.</p>
<p><strong>Update:</strong> We’ve now spotted new gold, dark blue, and dark pink tones for all iPods:</p>
